I love the library

Today we walked up to the library to check out some books. I had requested some books and they arrived two weeks ago, but the library was closed all last week. After I picked up my books, I checked out the sewing section and added a few more to my cart. Then we looked over at the world languages section to find some books for Daddy to read us.
So many books!
The path between my house and the library goes across a field and a man-made lake. I can point out red-wing blackbirds, mallards, coots (thanks Briar), and Canada geese, but I don't know the names of other birds. I need a field guide for local Sacramento birds and plants. Anyone know of one?

  1. I've totally been obsessed with the library lately too! I just got myself a couple of novels and a bunch of cookbooks.

  2. Oooh, you're going to love Blackout (I hope!) Let me know when you're done with it. Did you read To Say Nothing of the Dog?

  3. I loved Blackout, until about 20 pages from the end when I realized there had to be a sequel because there was no way things would be wrapped up. I was irritated I hadn't requested the sequel when I got the others, but I checked on my library page and I had! There was such a long line for it that I'm just now able to pick it up Tuesday, a month after the rest of the books. It just came out last year so I wonder if there's been a backlog at the library.
I also liked To Say Nothing of the Dog. It took a while to get into it because it just jumps in, with lots of characters and the time travel lingo, but I enjoyed how all the different parts and characters come together in the end.
Thanks for letting me know about her! Any other recommendations?
